Naomi & Steve | New Zealand

Naomi and Steve eloped and were married on the top of Coronet Peak in Queenstown, New Zealand. After they said their vows, enjoyed some champagne with the bicyclists who we recruited to be the witnesses, ring bearer, flower girl and Go Pro operator, they strapped in and hang glided off of the mountain. And that is just the short version of our time together on January 13, 2016. I will let their photos do most of the storytelling.

If you have never traveled to New Zealand, your life is not complete. It has mountains, lakes, grasslands, rain forests, rocky beaches and glaciers. It is such a care-free place and the people are beyond accommodating. Everywhere you look is another story. Another moment of pure and untouched nature. And sheep. Lots of sheep. I have never felt so creative and in touch with what I was doing and why I was doing it.

These two have traveled around the globe together and I would follow them to the other side of the Earth, again, without hesitation. They are so genuine and real and our time together was like spending time with family. We hung out and enjoyed a five-course meal at Amisfield Winery and then found lavender fields that were in front of the most perfect piece of property on the side of the mountain. We were followed by a cat that was not camera shy and a horse that just wanted to eat Naomi's bouquet.

Then up the longest, winding mountain road to where we picked a spot for their ceremony. The officiant and the recruited "guests" followed us to the edge of Coronet Peak where they read their vows and we all yelled "Mozel Tov!".

It was very cold and windy and Naomi's fox fur that she found in Amsterdam on a previous trip took the edge off. And the fact that they were just married, on a mountain peak in New Zealand was a bit of a distraction too.

There were so many serendipity moments that day. We must have said "It was just meant to be" a dozen times.

And then, at the top of the peak, they met up with the Sky Trek hang gliding crew, suited up and hang glided off the mountain. I raced down to meet them at the landing zone to get some shots of Naomi tossing the bouquet from the air.

We ended the day with sunset in Queenstown over looking Lake Wakatipu and then ate Thai food.

Thank you Naomi and Steve for giving me your everything that day. For not hesitating with your love and for trusting me to travel over 8000 miles from home to be the one to tell your love story.

I couldn't be more grateful to have met Mr. and Mrs. Peak. Yes. That is their last name. Meant to be, right?
